Roland Foods Updates
The Novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV, also known as Covid-19, has continued to spread throughout China, Italy, and many other countries, impacting business operations across the globe. Since the beginning of the outbreak, Roland Foods has been monitoring the spread of the virus and working hard to assess the potential impact of Covid-19 on our company and customers alike. As the situation continues to evolve over the coming weeks, we will provide necessary updates to our customers as they become available and will reach out directly as appropriate.
In late January 2020, the Chinese government placed restrictions on production and manufacturing facilities due to Covid-19. Since then, 100% of our suppliers in China have resumed production and shipment activities. While we continue to closely monitor the situation in China, we do not anticipate large scale outages within our supply chain there.
In order to curb further transmission of Covid-19, Italy has established a significant quarantine throughout the entire country. This lockdown has not affected commercial activities and we do not predict near-term risk to our supply chain due to Covid-19 in Italy. However, as a precautionary measure, we secured additional supply of high-volume core items from our suppliers in Italy.
The New York State Department of Health published a report stating that “…there is no evidence to support transmission of 2019-nCoV from imported goods and there have not been any cases of 2019-nCoV in the U.S. associated with imported goods to date.”  As such, all Roland Foods products from foreign suppliers are safe to consume and pose no threat.
While the future impact of the Covid-19 outbreak is uncertain, we will make every effort to ensure our customers experience minimal interruptions in their supply of Roland Foods products. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through any challenges that may arise.
